Require info on GREEN-ness of Indian products |
Message : |
Currently I am gathering few information regarding the GREEN-ness of products (e.g. TV, Refrigerator, AC, Automobile etc.) in the Indian market. The parameters I am looking into are:
1) What is the rated energy consumption of the product (peak load and average load) ? Does it has an ‘Energy Efficiency Label Rating’. e.g. ENERGY STAR rating in USA.
2) What is the associated GHG (Greenhouse gas) emissions of using the product e.g. the GHG emissions of the Nano car is 101 gms per km ?
3) Does the usage of the product result in other emissions that are hazardous e.g. CFCs in Refrigerators and ACs ? What is the quantum of such emissions ?
4) Does the company have a policy to take back products at the end of life and ensure safe disposal or extended recycling ?
5) Does the product use recycled materials as part of its design e.g. 60% of Xerox copiers’ components are reused components from end-of-life copiers ?
6) What is the product’s carbon footprint per unit as measured over its entire manufacturing lifecycle e.g. 1 ton of GHG emissions associated with each unit of a CFL manufacture?
If you have any inforamation regarding this, can you pls send me some links or docs? I really appreciate your effort.
